Be in Top 10,000 to secure a seat in IIT

For older IITs get less than 3000-3500 to get a good branch as well

and it may decrease with category

For OBC ranks go down 2000-4000 while for SC/ST it may go down 10,000-30,000 and maybe more

and for girls there are supernumerary seats so it helps them too
