Which rational number can be added to – 3 to obtain -1/2? (With explanation please)

The question is :-

  • Find x if - 3 + x = -1/2

Solution :-

- 3 + x = -1/2

x = -1/2 + 3

x = 5/4 , i. e.  2 \frac{1}{2}

=> X = -1/2+3
