When distilled with conc. sulphuric acid ethylene glycol undergoes dehydration to form 1,4-dioxane ( six membered ring with two oxygen atoms diagonally opposite); H from OH of one molecule reacts with OH of another moleccule, similarly OH of first molecule reacts with H of second molecule.
