Deccan plateau is the most ideal region for the cultivation of cotton in india. Because of the thick dark soil also known as regur soil which is widely found in Deccan plateau, this place is suitable for cultivation of cotton.

For example Gujarat, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana.
