1) The godavri is the largest peninsular river . it rises from slopes of western ghats in the nasik district of Maharashtra.


2) The godavri is joined by number of tributaries such as purna, the wardha ,the pranhita , the manjra, the wainganga and the penganga .


3) It has a largest drainage system among the peninsular rivers.with a ​length of about 1500 km. It drains into the Bay of Bengal.
