Summer, is therefore the ideal seasonfor groundnut cultivation wherever irrigation facilities are available and soil is suitable. In parts of Tamil Nadu (Pollachi, Theni and Tenkasi regions) the crop is raised under irrigation in summer. Sowing is taken up from the second fortnight of December to March.
