The Catholic Church would have every reason to believe that they had been badly wounded in the process. Most of their wealth had been confiscated, Priests, Abbots, monks and nuns had been ordered out of the country and others had been badly abused and even killed. Cathedrals and churches had been pillaged, desecrated and burned. Some had been rented out by the state as warehouses and barns. The final insult was to attempt to de Christianise the Nation.

Answer:
The clergy and the nobility were forced to relinquish power. The poorer sections of society and women would have been disappointed with the outcome of the revolution as the promise of equality was not fulfilled in full measure at the end of the revolution.
