The IT industry continues to be the largest private-sector employer in India. India is the third-largest start-up hub in the world with over 3,100 technology start-ups in 2014–15. The agricultural sector is the largest employer in India's economy but contributes to a declining share of its GDP (17% in 2013–14).

hey there !!
I think the secondary sector(industrial sector) provides a lot of employment .
cause only in industrial sector people make new product from the raw materials and make them finished product ..
in making of the finished product more and more people required cause it can't be done with single person .
let's take an example :- a bread making industry in this industry firsly we need flour aqnd than convert it into bread , but converting it into bread there is such a large process or when we do it in a large no. than it may employed More and more persons .
hope it helps !!
