The hardware can connect and communicate with motherboard through ports  

Ports has a software driver code written that contain the rules and guidelines to follow when external hardware devices are connected.The driver software in ports store the process how to access various parts in a hardware system .

We usually connect many devices to computer  

We charge our phone due to avilaility of ports that interacat directly with mother board and hardware

With the absence of ports we are not able to use any device that we are using now

Examples are:

USB_Universal Serial Bus

We use USB port to connect mobile to a system

Radio jack:

We use it to connect earphones to radio or mobile

Ethernot port:

We use this port in computer to connect lan cables and connected to internet.

With out this wired communication wont happen
