"Guru Nanak Devji opposed the following social evils:

i) Idol worship

ii) Untouchability

iii) Parda Pratha, that is, restriction for women to wear veils

iv) Restrictions over type of food to be consumed.

He believed in true Dharma and felt that the above said social evils violated Dharma. He preached equality and respect for all.

He believed in moral courage and dignity and spread the same among his disciples. He preached his followers not to follow or engage in any of these practises."
