clay soil have more capacity to hold water than other soils. we can use sand soil aslo but clay is well known for its capacity to holr moisture.

Calyey soil is said as a good moisture holder.

This soil contains call particle and small quantity of humus and silt.

Clayey soil can't trap air. So,thete ia very little air is the Calyey soil. Hence, only beacuse of this it can hold water.
