To write the history of my village or town I will use two sources; namely primary and secondary sources. Primary sources to be used will include information collected from the archives, diaries, and from Key informants who may have information concerning the growth and development of the town or village. Secondary sources, on the other hand, will include; books, journals, and publications written by scholars or authors with information related to the study of the town. The town evolved out of a colonial railway built by the British during the colonial period. The railway served as a service and communication centre for the British. However, at the end of the second world war, the town sprouted with retail shops, industries, and served as an administrative centre. The town has today grown with a population of about 500,000 people.
