(a) Sirius is located by Orion constellation:
- The Orion constellation is visible on late evening during winter.
- The brightest start in Orion are Rigel which is blue white in color and Betelgeuse which is red in color. But, it generally has eight brightest stars.
- In Greek mythology, Orion means hunter.
- When imaginary line is drawn through three stars in middle and seen through the line in east direction, it leads to a bright star.
- This star is called Sirius.
(b) Pole Star is located by Ursa Major Constellation:
- The Ursa Major Constellation is called as Big Dipper of the Great Beat.
- This constellation has seven prominent stars.
- When imaginary line is drawn through two stars at the end of the Ursa Major and looked towards North direction. It leads to a star called pole star.
- Pole star is not a bright star.
