As you know that there are 3 states of matter knowingly solid, liquid and gas. In solids the particles are tightly packed and their force of attraction is very high as compared to liquid and gas, so that's why we can easily hold solids into our hands. Although we cannot hold liquid into our hands for long but we can hold it for 5-10 seconds. And the last one gas, it's particles are very loose as compared to solids and liquids and they move randomly, hence we cannot hold it into our hands.
