Which state of matter has only one free surface? How?

LIQUID is the state of matter that have only 1 surface .
The free surface of a liquid just means the surface that is in contact with air.

Liquid
A fluid is that which has the ability to flow, or to move from one place to another by changing shape smoothly. Solids are not fluids, but liquids and gases are.
