This Festival was initiated in the year 2016-17 with the target of promoting river tourism in rural areas as 'AIE river winter festival' on the bank of river Aie in the chirang district of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). Later, the name was changed to 'Dwijing' which means 'River Bank'.
The 3rd Dwijing Festival of 2018 was started on 27th December 2018 and it will continue to 7th January 2019. This festival is 12 day event which aims to promote local tourism and cultural of BTC. (Bodoland Territorial Council).
