- Both type of investigations include a question, procedure and conclusion. Actually, these three elements are standard for any type of investigation.
- All investigation are developed based on a problematic situation which defines a question, that the investigator seek to answer. In the attempt of answering, he develop several procedure according to the methodology of the investigation, that is, a descriptive and comparative investigation have different procedures, to seek a similar purpose, to answer the question.
- After developing all procedures needed according to the methodology, a conclusion is made, based on the facts from the procedure. This conclusion is the actual attempt to answer the question, having two possible outcomes, or the problem in the question is solved, or just the procedure and methodology couldn't do it that far.
