In federal government system ,power is divided between central authority and various constitutional units of country and different levels enjoy power independently whereas in unitary government there is no divisions of power and subunits are subordinate to central govt.

"A major advantage of a unitary system over the confederal system is that the Centre i.e. the Central Government is always in a position to take its own decisions. It does not have to depend on others for taking a decision.

It can rely on its own and also on its council of ministers to decide which steps would be good for the country.

A confederal system of government precludes a sole national government from holding the entire power of the country.
