Pair work in the scaled agile framework:
- The code or to be precise, the various components that constitute a system is ultimately responsible for successfully completing and carrying out all capabilities of the system. How vigorously and reliably developers can edit it, will ultimately determine how quickly and easily new features may be put into inclusion. Pair work was one of the methods, which was partially inspired by Extreme Programming (XP).
- In case of pair work, two developers work on the same change at the same workstation when working in pairs. One of them has the actions of a coder while the other acts as the navigator, reviewing and providing feedback in real time. Developers regularly keep toggling between these positions. As the code will contain the shared knowledge, viewpoints, and best practises from one person to another pairing develops and maintains quality of the overall work. As colleagues gain knowledge from one another, it also improves and broadens the team's collective skill set.
