All the given statements describe the characteristics of deposition.

Sediment is the matter that settles to the bottom of a liquid. It is the naturally occurring material. It is broken down by the processes of erosion & weathering. It can be in the form of sand, pebbles, mud or as salts dissolved in water. It is transported by the action of wind, water or some other factor from one place to the other.

And deposition is the laying down of this sediment to the bottom of a liquid transported by wind, water or ice.

So all the above statements describe the characteristics of Deposition.

The correct option regarding characteristics of deposition is: Rocks are broken into smaller particles.

When rivers flow from the top of the mountains they carry many rocks with them.

With the pressure of the flowing water and the various agents of erosion, the rocks are broken down into smaller pieces and are deposited as sediments at the banks of the river.
