In some states of India there has been a decline in poverty. A few of them are:

Punjab and Haryana due to agricultural growth rates.

Kerala due to human resource investment.

West Bengal due to land reform measures.

Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu due to public distribution of food grains.
