Self-actualization needs is the step in Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory deals with achieving one's potential.

Maslow's hierarchy:There are totally 5 needs  that comes under Maslow's hierarchy of needs. They are,

- Physiological needs

- Safety needs

- Love and belonging needs

- Esteem needs

- Self-actualization needs.

SELF-ACTUALIZATION NEEDS:

  • Self-actualization would mean achieving the complete fulfillment of one's potential. This takes up the most prominent part of the hierarchy pyramid.
  • It is also called as self-fulfillment needs. It is obtained or achieved by sharpening the knowlege in various skills such as archery, painting, writing poems, singing, etc
  • It is also achieved by improving overall health by involving in active sports such as skiing, hockey, football, basketball, etc. Travelling new places and learning a new language improves self-actualization needs.

Among the 5 needs only the self-actualization is called by Maslow as 'growth needs' while the other 4 needs are called as 'deficiency needs'. Only when all 'deficiency needs' are achieved, the 'growth need' becomes a priority.
