5Ws and 1H strategy can be used to write a summary of an informational text.

  • This question can be easily answered using the elimination method.
  • Let's begin with the last option: What I know. You can not write what you know in any given passage because the question is not asking you to give your viewpoints instead it is asking to summarise whatever is in the passage.
  • Option C: Freytag's Pyramid. It is a seven-step process: exposition, inciting, incident, rising, action, climax, falling action, resolution, and denouement. When one is talking about an informational text then there is no action, climax, falling action, etc. It contains only information about a topic.
  • Option B: Somebody-Wanted-But-So-Then. The different words stand for the main character, his/her wants, problem, solution, and resolution respectively. In an informational text, there is no character, no wants, problem, etc. as it is not a novel.

Hence, option A is correct which includes 5Ws: What, Who, Where, When, Why and 1H: How.
