IPS is the best stream for civil service jobs.
As per conditions, to become an IPS officer having any one bachelor degree from a college/university recognized under state/central law is enough. I mean eligible to write examination for IPS.
Apart from that, being a science graduate is great advantage in examination. Because the subjects like polity, history,…can be pursued easily without degree background. But science subjects need little extra efforts.
However the syllables is very vast and more or less same to all candidates whether from B.tech or B.A economics or M.B.B.S.
