Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have two basic features.

1) A plasma membrane which is also known as a cell membrane.

2) A cytoplasm.

Prokaryotic cells are simpler than eukaryotic cells.

For instance:

Prokaryotic cells lack a nucleus in their cytoplasm whereas eukaryotic cells have nucleus in their cytoplasm.

The structure which is found in the cytoplasm of a prokaryotic cell, but not in the cytoplasm of a eukaryotic cell is DNA.

Prokaryotic cells do not have any membrane-bound organelle like for example a nucleus, whereas a eukaryotic cell has well-defined membrane-based organelles like for example Nucleus, mitochondria etc.

The DNA is present in the nucleus and since prokaryotic does not have one, they lack DNA.
