So, soaps and detergents are salts. they are prepared by reaction of strongbases like NaOH or KOH with weak organic acids like stearic acid (C17H35COOH), Palmitic acid(C17H33COOH) or oleic acid(C17H31COOH)). due to this they show somewhat basic properties in them and can be considered as basic SALTS..................
