The large intestine is usually employed in absorbing some of the vitamins and essential nutrients that is produced by the Gut bacteria by digesting the food

Explanation:

Most of the food in our body is digested and the essential nutrients that are up to 90% are absorbed in the small intestine itself. The Large intestine receives the slurry of undigested substance that enters the caecum and is acted upon by the good bacteria that is present, this breaks it down and the essential nutrients are absorbed back into the body.
