Experimentally, if we burn Magnesium (Mg) or Magnesium Ribbion (Mg) in air, it will produce Magnesium Oxide (Mgo).
The reaction are as follows:
Magnesium + Oxygen → Magnesium Oxide (Word Equation)
Mg + O2 → MgO (Skeletal Equation)
Mg + O2 → 2MgO (Balanced Equation)
