Which system is used for assessing population density?
Answers
Human population density
Population density is a figure that tells you how many people live in a certain area. Generally, pop. Density is reported in square miles or kilometers, and it can be included in bodies of water or not. This kind of measurement is called arithmetic density, and is testified as the total number of people per land area. For example, until 2014, there is a pop density of 1000 people per square kilometer in the Nile Delta. In other words, there are an average of 1000 people living in 1 x 1 km area.
Formula
The formula for population density is:
Number of land / square miles (or kilometers) of land
The definition is slightly different that the organization or entity is reporting figures. for example:
• World Bank defines population density, "Medium population is divided by square kilometers by land area." World Bank statistics include all people living in the land area. It contains illegal aliens but refugees are abandoned (which is considered to be native inhabitants of the country) and other temporary residents are included. In the "land area" major rivers and lakes have not been included.
• The University of Florida calculates the population density for the first time except for the block of land where no one is alive (such as parks, wetlands and forests). The University says that with this area (38% of Florida is completely exiled), the reason for the actual population density can be misleading data where people actually live.
In addition to arithmetic density, less common types of pop. Density measurements include:
• Residential Density: Number of people living in the area of urban areas / residential land.
• Urban Density: Number of people living in the area of urban area / urban land.
• Agricultural density (also called physical density): Number of people in the rural area / agricultural land area
