Australia beat West Indies in their last group match, thus enabling Pakistan to reach the semi-finals in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. This match was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 18th March 1992.

In this match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia scored 216 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their stipulated 50 overs. David Boon scored a century from the Australian side. In reply, West Indies team was all out for 159 runs in 42.4 overs. West Indies lost the match to Australia by 57 runs. Brian Lara scored 70 runs from the west Indian side.
