The first negative term is 9th term

Step-by-step explanation:

AP 36,31,26,21

First term = a = 36

Common difference = d = 31-36=26-31 = -5

Formula of nth term =a_n=a+(n-1)d

We are supposed to find  first negative term

So, a+(n-1)d<0

36+(n-1)(-5)<0

(n-1)(-5)<-36

(n-1)(-5)<-36

(n-1)<7.2

n<8.2

So, The first negative term must be 9th term

Hence The first negative term is 9th term
