Answer:

a = 12 \\ d =  - 5 \\ tn =  - 98 \\ a + (n - 1)d =  - 98 \\ 12 + (n - 1) (- 5 )=  - 98 \\ (n - 1) - 5 =  - 110 \\ n - 1 = ( - 110 )\div  (- 5) \\ n - 1 =  22 \\ n = 22 + 1 \\ n = 23

\huge\boxed{Answer:}

Let nth term be -98

Given,,,12,7,2,-3.....Are in AP

And a=12 , d = -5

Since,,.  an = -98

         a+(n-1)d = -98

          12+(n-1)(-5) = -98

              (n-1)(-5) = -98-12

              (n-1)(-5) = -110

               (n-1) =  (-110) / (-5)

              (n-1) = 22

              n = 22 + 1

             n = 23

Hence,,,,,23rd term be - 98.
