a= -7

d= -5

an= a + (n-1)d

-82= -7+(n-1)-5

-82=-7+5-5n

80=5n

n=16

16th term is -82

For an=-100

-100=-7+5-5n

-98=-5n

(Here n turns out to be in rational form which is not possible so there is no -100 in the AP.)
