Which term of the series 3+7+11+15_ _ _ _ _ is 47

AP = 3,7,11,15.....


Here,


First term (A) = 3

Common difference (D) = 4


Tn= 47


A + (N-1) × D = 47


3 + (N-1) × 4 = 47

3 + 4N -4 = 47

-1 + 4N = 47


4N = 47+1

4N = 48

N = 48/4

N = 12



Hence,

12th term of the given AP is 47.

Common difference = 7 - 3 = 4

a = 3

×××××××××××××××××××××××××××××

Now,



a(n) = a + (n - 1) × d

47 = 3 + (n - 1) × 4

47 - 3 = 4(n - 1)

44 = 4(n - 1)

44/4 = n - 1

11 = n - 1

11 + 1 = n

12 = n
