the test tube in which acid react with metal carbonate . for e.g. reaction between HCl and calcium carbonate to give calcium chloride and carbon dioxide and water . calcium chloride is black in colour . Hope it helps you

In the reaction:

2CH3COOH+Na2CO3----> 2CH3COONa+ H2O +CO2

Due to 2CH3COONa AND CO2 brisk effervescence occurs
