There are three merismetic tissues responsible for the growth of plant.
☆ APICAL MERISTEM- It increases length of the plants
It is present in tip of roots and shoots
☆ INTERCALARY MERISTEM :- This tissue is present at nodes .
It increases the length of internodes
☆ LATERAL MERISTEM -- They are responsible for increase in girth or breadth of plant
