Collenchyma is absent in Monocot Plants.

✴Collenchyma cells are living and somewhat elongated with thickened corners . There are no intercellular spaces between the cells.

✴They are found in leaf stalks and epidermis of dicot stems

✴They are absent in monocot plants.

✴They provide tensile strength and mechanical support to the plant.
