The tissue responsible for branch formation is meristematic tissue. The type of meristematic tissue responsible for this is intercalary meristem.

These are the tissues present in between the permanent tissue.

It is present on the node, inter node and base of the leaf.

The intercalary meristem helps in the formation of branches and growth of internodes.

1.apical meristem
2..lateral meristem
3.intercalary meristem
