The central area on the venn diagram is used to represent set of information that are common in both A and B. so this particular area in venn diagram is termed as the Union of Both Sets A and B.

If any element is marked in this common (intersecting) area then it is termed to be a part of both sets A and B.

If this region is empty then it means that the intersection of the two sets does not have any common elements amongst themselves.

Now, looking at the same set of information, it can always be marked using a two-way table.

When constructing the two-way table it is obvious that both X and Y axis can have set of values that fill in the venn diagram. So, even if the venn diagram is three way, still the information can be filled in using the Two-way table.
