The defect that has a cation in its interstitial state is known as Frenkel Defect.

Explanation:

According to the Frenkel Defect, the stoichiometry and electrical neutrality of a compound is maintained and is not affected when an ion is missing from its correct lattice site and occupies an interstitial site. In other words, if an ion is not present in its lattice site but goes to the interstitial site, the compound’s structure is not affected in any manner.

The Frenkel Defect is so called because in this defect, a cation occupies the interstitial site. A cation is generally very small in size and therefore it is the cations that move to the interstitial site rather than the anions of a compound.
