Hydrochloric acid dissolves a few metals to form oxidized metal chlorides and hydrogen gas, the latter of which is visible in the form of bubbles floating to the surface.

oxide metal may form on the surface in case of
few metallic substance like aluminum rods etc.
coated with chromate which form orange color film.
