Erythrocytes is the type of elements which are high in number in blood.

Erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells refers to a cell which contains haemoglobin, responsible for the reddish color and carries out oxygen to the body.

They are biconcave in shape, and increases the cell's surface area, facilitating the diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

The shape is maintained by a cytoskeleton, composed of several proteins and is very flexible and change shape when flowing through capillaries.
