concave mirror is used in it .When a source of light is placed at the focus of a concave mirror, a parallel beam of light rays is obtained

headlights of cars and search lights have reflectors to produce a strong parallel beam of light . in reflectors ,the source of light is placed at the focus which after reflection forms a parallel beam of light .

-used as shaving mirrors,since it gives an erect and enlarged image.when the object is placed very close ,within its focal length .
