So kinds of sentences....
Friend, In English Grammar there are four types of sentences.
They are >>>
=> Assertive Or Declarative sentence.
=> Interrogative sentence
=> Imperative sentence
=> Exclamatory sentence
Assertive Sentence
=> Assertive sentences are the sentences which is just a statement. In other words you can say Assertive sentences are simple sentences which are with no good/bad content.
=> Assertive sentences are mostly (not always) ended with a full stop (.).
=> Example: The boy writes a letter.
Interrogative sentences.
=> These are the sentences which are questionable ones.
=> They usually start with Why,What,Which,How,Where. In some cases they even start with Do,Is,Did etc.
=> They end with a question mark (?).
=> Example: What is your name?
Imperative Sentences
=> These sentences are sentences which give orders.
=> They sound very strong like a command given by the elders etc.
=> Example : Get out of this room.
Exclamatory Sentences
=> These are the sentences which exclaim and tell us about the good or bad news.
=> It is ended with an exclamation mark (!).
So coming to your question >>>
Q. That is a wonderful news
Ans. According to me it should be an exclamatory sentence as it tells us about happiness by the word 'wonderful'. This sentence should be ended by an exclamation mark.
