The Doab region is a very fertile area. A number of rivers make the soil fertile. Punjab is also the most productive area of India. It has a lot of land under cultivation. It has alluvial soil.

The Doab region is very fertile region as Punjab,the land of five rivers, has huge alluvial deposition done by the rivers and tributaries. So, the alluvial soil is predominant in this area owing to large scale production of variety of crops.
