The soil which is prosperous in LIMCAP, i.e., Lime, Iron, Magnesium Carbonate, Alumina, and Potash is known as Black soil or Lava Soil. Black soil is of volcanic foundation and is composed of weathering of LAVA rocks.

Lava rocks are most intensive in the Deccan areas of India, so black soil is discovered in the Deccan areas, in the regions of, Gujarat, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Black soil has mud content and a great moisture-retentive potential, which helps in aeration of the plants.
