The substance that will react with sodium sulphite to form sulphur dioxide is sulphuric acid.

You should also note that suphur dioxide can also be synthesized through direct combination of elements.

This can be achieved through the burning of sulphur in the air (oxygen)

Suphur dioxide can be sythesized both in the laboratory as well as industrially where large amounts of the gas can be obtained.
