Which type of surface produce (a)least friction and (b)too much friction ?

smooth surfaces produce least friction why rough surfaces produce too much friction.

Smooth and polished surface provides least friction. eg: polished marble, frozen river etc.

Rough and unpolished surface provides to much friction. eg: road, street tiles etc.
