The type of unemployment found in agricultural sector is seasonal unemployment and disguised unemployment.
EXPLANATION:
- Unemployment is defined as a condition in which the people are willing to do work but cannot do it because the work is not available. Unemployment is a huge issue in developing countries like India. The agricultural sector of the country still has a high number of people involved in it.
- There are two types of unemployment found in it: Seasonal unemployment, we know that different types of crops are grown on different seasons, so during the time of sowing and harvesting of a particular crop large number of agricultural labourers are employed, but in the offseason they remain unemployed because there is no work. Other type is Disguised unemployment, it means that number of people are involved in doing less work.
- For example, if farmland can be sown by 12 people but, 18 people are doing it, then 6 of them are disguised unemployed. If they had other people who could hire them then they would have done more work and would have earned more money.
