Herbivores exclusively feed on the producers. A Part of the food energy is wasted on the processes of digestion and assimilation including some other life processes. Some of the assimilated food is broken down to form and release the energy for performing strenuous body activities. A very small portion becomes the part of the body of a herbivore. Herbivores are further eaten by primary carnivores, which too, diets having strict meat diet, the latter two are eaten by the secondary carnivores, further by Tertiary and quaternary carnivores and so on goes the food chain. At, every step, a lot of energy has been disassociated and expelled in the form of waste. Peacocks are omnivorous as, their diets have both of them include, meat eating and piercing equipment plus ability to eat plants, fruits, vegetables at the same time, so, they are called as omnivores.
